Eco Council
Fairfield First School is an Eco school. We work hard to care for ourselves, care for each other and care for the environment near and far.
As part of our Eco work, we look at the issues of: litter, waste, energy, transport, water, school grounds, healthy living, biodiversity and global perspective.

> Participation in Waste Week to raise awareness of plastic pollution and conducted a Twitter Poll to encourage our families to reduce their single use plastic waste.
> Dedicated year round Gardening club who meet on a weekly basis after school. Recent food crops have included, potatoes, tomatoes, strawberries and peas.
> We compost our fruit and veg scraps from playtime and lunchtime snacks, we water plant pots and containers around school and ensure that we have varied habitats available within the school grounds including our very own Buggingham Palace, bird feeders and a Buzz Stop for busy pollinators.
