Art and Design at Fairfield is encapsulated by focusing on skills and creativity, and the opportunity to learn about the work of a range of artists, describing the differences and similarities between different practices and disciplines. 

In the Early Years Foundation Stage, art skills are developed as part of a wider topic-based approach. We provide a range of experiences that encourage exploration, observation, problem-solving, critical thinking and discussion. The children across all year groups are exposed to a range of artists and build systematically upon their skills. 

A range of evidence of learning and opportunities can be seen in our 'Art Portfolios', and around school. 

Fairfield Arts Week 2024

The children took part in a variety of activities linked to arts, music and performing. We had a whole school Wake and Shake, musical theatre workshops and arts and design activities linked to the children's interests.
